Network Configuration Settings (OS 10.3-10.4)
- From the Apple menu, select System Preferences.

- Click on Network under Internet
& Network.

- Underneath the Network window, make sure that the
Location is listed and checked as Automatic

- Under Show select Built-in Ethernet

- Select the TCP/IP tab to the left which should come
up first by default.
- Under the Configure drop-down menu, select Using
DHCP. All other fields should be clear if not already.

- Click on the Apply Now button in the lower right hand
corner of the Network window.
Close the
window.Your Macintosh is now configured to connect to ResNet.
Note: If you have proxies set up (underneath the Proxies tab),
this will affect your ability to connect to the network. You will
want to uncheck any boxes and clear any fields that contains proxies within
them and apply the changes.
Network Configuration Settings (10.5 or newer)
- From the Apple menu, select System Preferences.
- Click on Network under Internet
& Network.
- Underneath the Network window, make sure that the Location is listed and checked as Automatic.
Highlight Ethernet and click Advanced...
- In the Advanced... window, with TCP/IP selected, choose UsingDHCP in the Configure IPv4 section and make sure Off is selected in the Configure IPv6 section.

- Next, select the Ethernet tab and. In the Configure section choose Automatically

- Now choose OK in the lower right-hand corner and click Apply in the original network window. Your computer is now configured to connect to ResNet. You may now close out of system preferences.
