Connecting

1. Plug your network cable into your network card on your computer if you haven't already done so. Then, plug the other end of the network cable into the wall's Data jack. This is typically the orange jack on the wall and larger than the phone jack. If you are unsure where your network cable plugs into, consult documentation found here.

2. Open your Internet browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Opera, etc.).

3. Type in an address (www.uni.edu) and the ResNet registration page will appear.

4. Follow the instructions on the registration page. This includes: installing recent patches or service packs, removing any previous anti-virus software, installing UNI's anti-virus software, and running the Netcheck program to check your computer's security. Once registered, you will receive an email when your registration has been processed (usually later that day or early the next). Restart your computer and you will be ready to use the Internet.
