Network Configuration Settings

1. Click the Start button in the bottom-left corner of your screen, type in the word "sharing" in the search bar. The only result shown is Network and Sharing Center. Double click that selection.



2. In the Network and Sharing Center, click on Manage Network Connections, which is located on the left column.



3. Right-click the Local Area Connection icon and select Properties.



4. From the list in the middle of the window select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4). Then click on the Properties button.


5. Verify the options shown are set to on Obtain an IP address automatically and Obtain DNS server address automatically under the General tab . You may need to clear out any information entered into the fields before choosing these options.

6. If you made any changes above, it may ask you to restart your computer. Click Yes and your computer will restart with the correct changes. Your computer's network settings should now be compatible with ResNet's network.
