Network Configuration Settings

1. Click the Start button in the bottom-left corner of your screen, select Control Panel. If you do not see Control Panel; click on Start, then Settings, and lastly Control Panel.



2. In the control panel, select Network Connections. If you do not see this icon, choose the Switch to Classic View option on the left-hand side under Control Panel.



3. Right-click the Local Area Connection icon and select Properties.



4. Underneath the General tab, select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), and then click on Properties. You may need to scroll down to see this in the list of items.


5. Verify the options shown are set to on Obtain an IP address automatically and Obtain DNS server address automatically under the General tab . You may need to clear out any information entered into the fields before choosing these options.

6. If you made any changes above, it may ask you to restart your computer. Click Yes and your computer will restart with the correct changes. Your computer's network settings should now be compatible with ResNet's network.
